Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC was founded in the spirit of generosity. It was in June 1890 when the 15-bed Pittsburgh Hospital for Children opened its doors with a promise to serve every child in need “regardless of race, creed or the ability of their parents to pay the cost.”
Spring is right around the corner and that means peak roofing season. So you might be asking yourself, when is the best time to initiate your roofing project? The answer to that varies based on the size of your project and the backlog of the contractor you are using.
Congratulations to Bryan Howard, Field Supervisor, Apex, NC office, for being CentiMark's NRCA MVP Award Winner! Bryan received the award February 7, 2018 at the annual NRCA (National Roofing Contractors Association) conference in New Orleans.
CentiMark’s founder, Ed Dunlap (and my older brother), did a pretty remarkable job with his company, considering where the company started and where it is today. It took a lot of good people over the years (some still here) to build an organization as large and successful as CentiMark.
QuestMark’s Segundo “Tito” Rodriquez lives and works in Arizona but has changed the lives of many Puerto Ricans who were and still are devastated by the Hurricane in the fall of 2017. Tito is a Field Supervisor in QuestMark’s Phoenix, AZ office.
HEARTH would like to celebrate with CentiMark on their 50th anniversary! Thanks to CentiMark and their generous and philanthropic Chairman & CEO, Edward B. Dunlap, HEARTH continues to thrive in the greater Pittsburgh community. HEARTH has gone through some big changes in the last few years and we couldn’t have continued serving our families without CentiMark! Their commitment to education for women and their children is incredible and a core value that Mr. Dunlap shares with us.
Crossroads Foundation is so very proud to congratulate Ed & Anna Dunlap, Tim & Teri Dunlap and CentiMark associates on your 50th anniversary. We applaud CentiMark and your Foundation for the the long history of helping not only the underserved youth in our own program, but also so many people of all ages in need throughout the Pittsburgh region.
After a chance encounter in 2011 between DHS's deputy director of community relations and CentiMark’s community relations manager, CentiMark learned of the projects DHS spearheads to provide greater normalcy for children touched by the Department. What has resulted is seven years of life-changing donations that have immeasurably benefitted children and teens impacted by abuse and neglect and homelessness.
Led by the generosity of founder, Chairman and CEO Edward B. Dunlap, CentiMark has been a caring and compassionate friend to The Children’s Home & Lemieux Family Center, supporting essential nonprofit services to children and families while providing aid to those struggling most.
Improving schools, enriching neighborhoods, providing transformational resources to people in need… these items are not on the agenda of the typical roofing company. But CentiMark is not a typical company. Since 2004, the generous donations of CentiMark Chairman & CEO Edward B. Dunlap have aided Holy Family Institute in helping children and families lead responsible lives and develop healthy and meaningful relationships.
The generosity of CentiMark.. For many years, Ed Dunlap and the employees at CentiMark have helped the Little Sisters of the Poor and our mission to care for the elderly poor of Pittsburgh. A few years back, we were planning our first ever Rock A Thon when our Residents and friends rock in rocking chairs to raise funds to replace an outdated bathtub on one of the nursing units. Our goal was to raise enough for one tub, but in actuality we needed three.
CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Allegheny County is thrilled to wish the CentiMark Corporation a very Happy 50th Anniversary! The involvement and generous patronage of CentiMark’s Chairman and CEO, Edward B. Dunlap, stretches back 20 years with our agency.
50 years - what a wonderful accomplishment! Congratulations on making a difference to so many people and organizations over your five decades. On behalf of Family Guidance, we want to say thank you for the impact you have made through your generosity and gracious giving.
Winters can be harsh. As difficult as they may be on us, have you ever considered what it does to your garage floor? Over the course of a given winter, how many times do you pull your car into your garage covered with extra moisture, road salt, or other debris that will ultimately end up on the garage floor and shorten the life of the concrete?
2018 is upon us. Many of us now need to operate our business within the budgets that were set at the end of 2017. The real question is how can we get the most out of our roofing budget? What obstacles or unforeseen costs can potentially gobble up your contingency funds?
Technology is being used in CentiMark roofing services to benefit customers in a number of ways. From infrared thermal imaging used to detect moisture captured within a roof to unmanned aircraft (drones) used to enhance inspections.
Every month, North Hills Community Outreach (NHCO) receives thank you notes like this one from Tara, a widowed Mom who is working and raising four children:
“You can’t even imagine the panic I felt in the months after my husband died. On top of my own grief and helping my kids work through their grief in their own ways, I began to seriously stress about how I would pay the bills and feed the kids. Not just big bills like the house, but small things like car inspection and school clothes. The programs NHCO has are lifesavers. God bless the donors and volunteers who care about my family and other people who have hit hard times. I met with someone to work out a budget and someone else helped me with a resume. I was able to get full-time work. I even got help with my gas bill when it was sky high. My kids had backpacks for school, some new clothes and shoes for school and even some Christmas gifts. Thank you so much. Thank everyone for me.”
After a city and county ballot initiative passed in Denver, CO, a Denver Green Roof Initiative went into effect January 1, 2018. This affects commercial roofs with a gross floor area greater than 25,000 square feet. The Initiative requires that building owners have a percentage of the roof covered with vegetation (green roof) and/or solar power.
With the cold temperatures the United States (US) and Canada are experiencing it is important to know the effects temperature and winter weather can have on your facility. Understanding the potential impact all this can have on your roof and floors will help you make maintenance and safety decisions that will help prolong your investment and keep your employees and customers safe.
CentiMark founder and CEO, Edward B. Dunlap knows quite a bit about establishing the base for a growing vital corporation from humble roots in 1968. He also realizes the importance of giving back along the way to help those in need. The Early Learning Institute (teli) is so very thankful to have been one of his beneficiaries in supporting our mission to help children with developmental delays.
