Name: Logan Gaskins, Branch Safety Inspector
CentiMark Office: Garner, NC
Years with CentiMark: Six years
Military Service: I served in the United States Marine Corps for six years. My rank was Sergeant. I served in Camp Lejeune, NC; Bagram, Afghanistan; Salerno, Afghanistan; Husaybah, Iraq and Quantico, VA.
What made you join the military?
I wanted to serve my country. I felt it was something that I needed to do after 9/11.
What life lessons did you learn in the Military?
Never to take anyone or anything for granted. Life is too short to have regrets.
What skills did you bring from the military to your position at CentiMark?
- Loyalty and a desire to learn.
What brought you to CentiMark?
My Dad was working at CentiMark at the time and offered me a job starting out as a roofer.
How can we - as individuals - best help veterans?
I think the best thing is for civilians to support veterans year-round - not just on Veteran’s Day. There has been a significant increase in Veteran suicides and it’s because a lot of Veteran’s come home and feel like they are useless. This hits close to home for me because I have several friends that chose to take their lives because they just didn’t want to get help. If you know a Veteran and they are in a bad place, encourage them to get help.
Thank you Logan Gaskins for serving our country in The United States Marine Corps.
