CentiMark's Commitment to its Local Communities

Leadership takes many directions. At CentiMark Corporation Edward B. Dunlap, Founder, Chairman and CEO of the 50 year old commercial roofing and flooring company leads by example in both business and philanthropy. Since the early days of the company, Ed Dunlap supported those in need and encouraged volunteerism from his associates.

While roofing and flooring are CentiMark’s businesses, giving back to the community is the company’s commitment. We seek to help the least, the last and the lost in our charitable endeavors. Dedicated to helping people in need, CentiMark offers volunteer and/or financial support to hundreds of charities across North America that serve the hungry; homeless; at-risk children and families; domestic violence victims; veterans; senior citizens and healthcare needs.

“The culture of giving back and volunteering has been ingrained in us for years. As our company continues to grow, we have more resources to help people,” says Timothy M. Dunlap, CentiMark President & COO. “Giving back to the community has not shaped the CentiMark culture...it is the CentiMark culture.”

CentiMark’s charitable endeavors include:

    • Sponsorship of The Salvation Army of Gwinnett County’s 2018 Home Run Derby and Kettle Kick-Off. Join us Saturday November 10th - free admission! Learn more here.
    • During weather disasters such as hurricanes, CentiMark works with the local communities affected by the disasters to help them with their immediate needs. An example of this is Segundo “Tito” Rodriquez, Field Supervisor, QuestMark, Phoenix, AZ. He worked tirelessly to collect water, food and other staples for Hurricane Harvey victims in Puerto Rico that he shipped from Arizona to Puerto Rico. For his efforts, he received an award from the Puerto Rican Center of Arizona, Inc. (PRCAZ).
    • Each June, as part of National Roofing Week (through the NRCA, National Roofing Contractors Association’s nationwide promotion of the roofing industry) and each November for Thanksgiving, CentiMark’s 85 offices throughout North America hold food drives and make financial donations to food banks in their respective communities.

  • As part of their regular Friday workday routine, CentiMark Corporate associates in Canonsburg, PA take turns delivering Meals on Wheels in the Peters Township, PA area. CentiMark is committed to the senior citizens in our community who need our help. Several years ago, in the middle of a heat wave in western Pennsylvania, CentiMark associates installed air conditioners and fans in the homes of the seniors on the Meals on Wheels route who did not have the cooling appliances.
  • Each spring, CentiMark hosts Southpointe Golfs for Children’s to raise money for Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. After 15 years, CentiMark has raised over $1 million for various departments at the hospital. Additionally, CentiMark associates volunteer at the hospital and at the golf event.
  • CentiMark company is committed to children and families. CentiMark associates teach Junior Achievement and host field trips at their Corporate offices to show students how a business works. CentiMark Foundation Executive Director, John Rudzik, continues to teach Junior Achievement after 40 years. He remembers, “Even when I was a busy CFO at CentiMark and thought I didn’t have time to teach Junior Achievement, our Chairman & CEO, Ed Dunlap, told me that I did have the time.”
  • Each year, CentiMark Corporate associates deliver Back-to-School and Christmas food and gifts to families-in-need and to non-profit organizations. Our philosophy at CentiMark is that to give a child a book bag, school supplies, school clothes and shoes, you not only make their day, but you reinforce the importance of education. The peer pressure is so great for children who do not have the latest backpack or school shoes. CentiMark is committed to helping the parents who cannot afford all the back-to-school or holiday items. CentiMark’s non-profit partners tell us: the school supplies and gift cards for clothes and shoes were life-savers. The parents of many young children tell us: There would not have been Christmas at our house without your help.
  • For Take Our Kids To Work Day, we proudly showcase CentiMark to the children of our associates.

At CentiMark, we walk, run, bike and golf for charity; we teach school students; we deliver meals; we donate blood; we shop for winter coats for children; we place Christmas wreaths on veterans’ graves; we support people in need; and, we give of our time. CentiMark associates take great pride in our success as a roofing and flooring company because our success enables us to undertake our charitable and volunteer endeavors.
