Name: Ian Dodson, Roofer
CentiMark Office: King of Prussia, PA
Years with CentiMark: One year
Military Service: United States Marine Corps for four years from 2004-2008. I was a Lance Corporal assigned to 3rd Battalion 4th Marines, Twentynine Palms, CA. I was also deployed to Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom III and IV.
What made you join the military?
I come from a linage of military service members and I knew that I wanted to join the military when I was 14 years old. However, nothing made my decision more easier than after September 11th, both of my parents were working at the Pentagon during the attack. It was then that I knew I was to be part of something that was much bigger than myself.
What life lessons did you learn in the Military?
As an Infantryman, I learned the meaning of being held to a high standard, taking responsibility for my actions and having the confidence and competence to take on any task no matter how small or dangerous.
What skills did you bring from the military to your position at CentiMark?
- Among structure and discipline, leadership and taking the initiative are skills that I use on a daily basis.
What brought you to CentiMark?
One of the things that interested me in a career with CentiMark is the endless opportunities to grow within the company. I truly feel that I have the support of management when it comes to advancing up the ladder. Everyone from my foreman and management have always encouraged me to learn new things and take on more responsibilities. Also, no day is the same as the next day. There is always something to learn and challenges to overcome.
Thank you Ian Dodson for serving our country in The United States Marine Corps.
