Military Service: I served for four years in the United States Coast Guard. My rank was E-3.
Where were you stationed? I was at Station Cape Disappointment, Ilwaco, Washington which is renowned for operating in some of the roughest sea conditions in the world. It’s located at the Columbia River bar - otherwise known as “The Graveyard of the Pacific” because 2,000 ships have sunk there. It’s home to the National Motor Lifeboat School. It is the only school for rough weather and surf rescue operations in the United States and is respected internationally as a center of excellence for heavy boat operations.
What made you join the military?
I wanted to work and gain life experiences.
